Dean T. DeFrancesch was born and raised in Garyville, LA. He graduated from East St. John High School. He attained his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Loyola University in New Orleans and his Juris Doctorate at Southern University Law School.

In 2016, Dean stepped into his father’s shoes at the DeFrancesch Law Firm and along with his law partner, Tomy J. Acosta, continue a 50 year tradition of serving clients and preserving his father’s legacy.

Mr. DeFrancesch is an experienced litigator in personal injury law, specializing in motor vehicle, 18-wheeler and motorcycle accidents as well as slip and fall and medical malpractice cases. He is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana.

Tomy J. Acosta was born in New Orleans and raised in the River Parishes. He is a graduate of Riverside Academy. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration along with his Masters of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans where he also served as Student Government President and was the student member on the LSU Board of Supervisors. He graduated in 2005 with a J.D. and a degree in Civil Law from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.

After graduating from law school, Tomy spent a year as a judicial law clerk in the 40 th Judicial District for the Honorable Judge Mary Hotard Becnel. In 2006, Tomy began his law career working with Fred R. DeFrancesch, serving the people of his hometown community. He also worked as an attorney for six years for the St. John the Baptist Public Defenders Office.

Tomy J. Acosta is an experienced litigator who has almost 20 years of experience in both State and Federal Court. He has tried both bench and jury trials in multiple venues throughout Louisiana. He is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana along with the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. In 2007, Tomy was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Georgia.

He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the American Association of Justice.
